first week of creativity complete

Recently, I posted about my little creativity challenge rules that I'll be working on for the next 75 days and when I wrote that, I had already started my challenge. I like to begin my weeks on Monday, since I do the whole 9-5 grind, that makes most sense to me. So, last Monday, I began my challenge and just did a little checklist for each day and I was able to successfully mark everything off for the first week!

Physical Activity (30+ minutes)

While this portion of the challenge doesn't necessarily relate to creativity, I still think it's important to keep some kind of exercise/joyful movement routine each day/week. Normally, I go to the gym 3x a week for weightlifting but during my non-gym days, I haven't been keeping up my activity levels. Rest is important! But low-level activity on rest days (aka active rest days) are also important. I decided to implement using our dusty/spider web collector of an elliptical machine to do what I like to call, Anime Cardio. Where I watch an episode or two of an anime while doing the elliptical machine since it's been too miserably hot outside to walk. This has been fun and I've been to watch anime more often, I've started off lightly with Chainsaw Man.

Creativity Activity (30 minutes to an hour)

I found myself mostly switching between drawing and writing this week for my creative activity each day. I worked on some art on my iPad and worked on writing/mostly planning a fictional story. I mainly stuck to doing creative stuff for about 30 minutes per day, trying to complete it sometimes before work in the morning or after work in the evening. I prefer working in the morning but on my gym days, there's not enough time before work starts and I end up pushing it to the evening.

Reading/Journaling/Crocheting

My next big categories are reading, journaling, and crocheting every day as well. I'm actually pretty in deep with the reading habit and listening to audiobooks every morning and reading before bed, so that's an easy win/checkmark for the day. Journaling is something I was really into but then dropped suddenly, so it's nice trying to get back into that habit again. As for crocheting, I've been very liberal with how much crocheting actually counts (if I do one stitch, that's a check!) since I have a pretty big project I'm working and I'm just trying to slowly tick away it and not burn myself out. Once I finish this project, I plan one either looking for a new big project or just doing a bunch of granny squares for a future blanket.

This week

The plan is to keep going, keep working on my daily tasks for creativity and physical activity. I'm feeling pretty good about the last week and excited to keep going!

Thanks for reading!
